Sequential Development
These selected paintings mark chronologically the major stages
of development toward the Absolute Image series.
The sequential development began with figurative work in 1990 which dissolved into more abstract values by 1993. From here the focus shifted to the organization of pure color/form in its own self-sufficient reality. After a year of working only with pure values of color ordered in relation to square grid systems there was a sudden change. In 1995 whole images built of much more complex geometries began to appear in the mind. This was the inception of the continuing series Absolute Image: The Structure of Consciousness in Visual Form, which I now regard as the fulfillment of my deepest aspirations as an artist.
